Mountain lovers must pay a visit to the Vall de Lord and its main town, Sant Llorenç de Morunys. There, while strolling through its picturesque old quarter, you can visit the parish church and admire the remarkable Romanesque cloister, the chapel devoted to the Mare de Déu dels Colls, the two exceptional Gothic altarpieces and a recently restored Barroque organ.

This is an area with many interesting places for walking: the Montcalb mountain, the source of the Cardener river, the municipalities of Guixers, la Coma i la Pedra, the Port del Comte ski resort (just a 30 min drive from the campsite), the Canalda mountain (where you can take a tandem flight at the paragliding center and practice rock climbing). The area can also be explored by following its many mountain biking trails.

For cross-country skiing, and enjoying impressive views of the Pyrenees, Tuixén is the place to go, in Alt Urgell county. There you can also visit the peculiar Museum of the turpentine oil peddlers and make the most of your trip by admiring the rich Romanesque heritage in the surroundings of the county's impressive capital, La Seu d’Urgell.

On your way back to Solsonès you can stop at the Creu del Codó, an outstanding lookout over the county, before heading to Odèn municipality, in the Pre-Pyrenees area. The Nature Center of Odèn organizes walks and activities where the Pre-Pyrenean environment and its legends play a major role.

The Catharism and its characters and traditions are also an important source for many local legends, since this was a welcoming land for many of the bons homes who had to escape from the Albigensian Crusade.
